We are thrilled to announce that Martin Brown will be discussing his delightful drawings at the Festival on Sunday 15 October at 3.30. Martin is an extremely popular illustrator of a wide range of wonderful children’s books, but is perhaps best known for his captivating illustrations for the hugely successful Horrible Histories series. These include such gems as Wicked Words, Rotten Romans and Crackin’ Castles, all of which are guaranteed to have youngsters splitting their sides with mirth and merriment.
What makes Martin’s appearance in Wells so timely is that, just like the Festival itself, Horrible Histories is celebrating 25 years of entertaining and educating a huge audience.
WFL shared ‘a chat’ with Martin over coffee and discovered he’s recently brought out his own personal homage to lesser known birds and beasts. Why not read about it with a cup of coffee? Martin is passionate about ‘drawing his doodles and little figures’ and his passion is infectious: his talks and workshops, peppered with jovial jokes and awesome anecdotes, as well as plenty of live drawing, make for a wonderful afternoon’s entertainment for the whole family. Make sure that no one ever again tries to claim that history is dull. Book tickets to see this Illustrious Illustrator in action here.
