2019 Festival: Starts with Pizzaz!

The 27th Wells Festival of Literature opened yesterday evening with a packed audience at a sell-out event – Diarmaid MacCulloch’s fascinating revelations about Thomas Cromwell.

Following the life of Cromwell, we were treated to the life of Johnny Normal, brought to us by his dad Henry. This brilliant and inspirational talk about life with an autistic son brought tears and laughter.

With eight days to go, and tickets still for sale, expect more tears, more laughter, more entertainment…

And more pizza!
In a new venture for the Festival we have teamed up with Da Luciano Pizzeria to provide pizzas after the first evening event from Monday through to Thursday.

Order your pizza at the ticket desk in the Cedars Hall foyer before the 6pm talk on any of these days, and it will be waiting for you when you come out after 7pm. Team it with a glass or two of something thirst-quenching from the bar and you’ll feel nicely refreshed and refuelled – all ready for the 8pm talk!

There are four varieties to chose from, each one also available with a gluten-free base.
