Femina - A New History of the Middle Ages, Through the Women Written Out of It
Finishes at: Saturday 15 October 11:30 AM

This exciting talk will show us into the mists of history through new eyes. A woman’s eyes.
Janina Ramirez takes us back to medieval times and reveals a past we might have never imagined: freed from their places as wives and consorts, a vivid and evocative picture of the lives of medieval women emerges, uncovering the incredible impact they had on society. In place of a patriarchal society that oppressed and excluded women, we see another world, one populated by those who have been too often ignored or overlooked.
This ground-breaking reappraisal of medieval women reveals how they have been written out of history and, more importantly, why that matters for us today.
