Remember, remember…

… it ends in November!

Although the 2021 Festival officially ended on 23 October, it is still being watched online by fans from here, there and everywhere. But all good things must come to an end and our festival is no exception! From 26 November the recorded events will be taken off the website and the committee of dedicated volunteers will concentrate on putting together a bumper week of entertaining and informative events for next year – designed to celebrate 30 wonderful years for the literature-lovers of Wells and beyond.

Tickets to see the 2021 speakers in person on the Cedars Hall stage were snapped up fast, with capacity audiences for several events. In fact, seats occupied in the auditorium itself during the week numbered almost 4,000, while more than 2,500 additional enthusiasts registered to enjoy events online.

During the past 29-plus years WFL has also fulfilled its early objective of fostering a love of books and reading in children and young people. Its work in local schools and colleges has grown over the years and proved especially vital during the pandemic. We are extremely grateful to everyone whose support enables us to help fund this wide array of educational projects: Friends of the Festival, sponsors, helpers, ticket-buyers and of course all those of you who have donated for live-streamed and recorded events. There’s still a small window left to catch a speaker you may have missed; or one you would like to watch again.

Otherwise you will have to wait until October 2022!
